Modern Egypt

From the bus, a photo of apartment buildings in Cairo that appear to be under construction. Taxes are higher on buildings that are complete, so the owners don't finish the outside or the tops. If the tops are unfinished, you can easily add another story when needed.

What sorts of transportation do you see at this village square?

This is 20 minutes from our hotel.  Would you like to ride a donkey to work?

Does this look a lot like your grocery store produce section? We also saw many markets with the meat hanging by hooks in the window.  The local people think that if the butcher packages his goods in plastic he may have something to hide.  Is that what you think when shopping at Von's?
